I like how everyone assumes that driving this car fast is a piece of cake to be superhuman.

I would guess that alot of this stuff is just people picking apart the little details in the gtr. Go out there and read the manuals on most of cars and it probably says the same thing.

While most manuals are similar. I'll bet you'd be hard pressed to find one that says essentially turning the stability control off voids the warranty. But whatever it is what it is and most manuals do talk about voiding your warranty for certain things such as improper maintainance or modifications.

And as far as thinking that driving this car is a piece of cake. Compared to cars like a Vette or a 911 I'll bet it's significantly easier to pull off fast, consistent lap times and that's it's intent. Give the driver as many tools and as much technology as possible to make up for his/her mistakes.

I really can't stand all the opinions that this is the greatest car since sliced bread. I have a list of cars I'd take over this thing including the Vette and even some other Japanese cars!

I'm also patiently awaiting Mo's opinion when he gets his little hands on it at the track!

My bro and I were talking about possible cars up to 150k that he would purchase. The talk swirled around all over the place but seamed to end up with the gtr being on top.

Personally why wouldn't you have the best quality machinery on hand to make you the best driver you can be? The traction control is still off, and the car is doing nothing but being itself in performing in another leauge than many of these other cars.

I really don't understand what exactly it takes to win people over, every magazine editor loves this car, race car drivers pretty well praise it as well, top gear beat a ton of cars on thier list with a superb time, what exactley will make mo's opinion so much more vaild than 100's of the automotive industrys top people?

I know he's a friend of yours, but when he comes back in 3 weeks gaga over the gtr, will that make you gaga as well?

It reminds me too much of the 350Z, it's autotragic only (I don't care what you call it, but the car changes gears automatically), and it's real world production car performance is still unproven. Personally I'd rather have an M3, and RS4, or a Z06 for that kind of money.

lol you would take a GTR over any 150k car???? that is laughable!!! Put a C6 Z06 next to a GTR and Ill take the american muscle anyday....There is something about being able to really challenge myself in a car or actually feeling like I am doing that work that is appealing....

Oh and the reason my opinion will matter is because I am not being paid by Nissan....and ill be driving a car not handed to me by Nissan for the test. Many things point to nissan handing some "special" cars to testers....Thats why the numbers are all over the board...But with that being said, even if the car bests my GT3 at gingerman (which I HIGHLY doubt), I will still say I do not want a car that does not make me work.

150K, damn I was just talking that I had a list in the same 70-80K range as the GT-R. You open it up to 150K and my list gets exponentially longer. Vette's, Gallardo's, M's, P-cars, etc, etc, etc....

To win me over, let's see it needs a cosmetic redesign, loss of at least half of the driver assists, a true manual transmission, and loss of a bunch of weight. There's more but that's a start anyway.

I highly doubt Mo will come back gaga over the GT-R but if he does, I'll value the opinion. That's only because I know it's unbiased and from a guy that has spent more time behind the wheel of performance cars than most people on this site put together. Would it win me over, doubtful. This car just doesn't do anything for me but to each his own.

yeah but what really is in that 150k range, audi a8, 911 turbo, gt3, gallardo (but just barely), vette z06, vette zr-1 if you can find one which you won't for under 175, and then a bunch of gran tourers (aston, merc, maser, etc etc)

There really isn't too much, personally I would still go with the gtr, I know I'm nuts apparently, but that is the car I would like to drive.

You're not nuts man, to each his own. Most of the animosity towards this car and the (ridiculous) number of posts about it, is because people seem to think it's the next coming of Christ. Is it a cool, very fast car? Sure. Is it the end all, be all? No.
