Hi, my name is Andy and I am excited to have found this forum for two main reasons:
1) It's Chicago based...
2) I love BMWs

Anyway, I recently got into a car wreck and decided to pay off the debts I have and use the remainder to buy a car. This turned out to be a smart move and a dumb move at the same time. Smart because I am debt free and dumb because it is hard to find a nice BMW for around $2.5k... I am now looking towards buying a car that I will actually like to drive (I easily get bored of driving but I love working on cars...) so a nice late 80s / early 90s 3 or 5 series would be perfect. Manual of course.

Thanks for the welcome!

As far as the accident, I was on a main road cruisin and a 89 year old man decided to make a left turn onto the same street in the opposite direction. Well what do you know, our cars decided to sloppily kiss.

As an update, I have purchased my car today!!! 94 BMW 530i 5spd Gray on Black Leather with a LOT of options ($5.5k lowered to $4k out the door at a dealer and all I know it need so far is brakes)... I will be getting some pics for you guys in a couple days because I have school all day tomorrow and work all day Friday...

I need a crash course in support for my car. Do you guys know a site, link or any info on what parts are better suited for this car? Primarily, brakes... Pads and rotos (not taking any chances)
