Here are the rules.
  • This is a season long competition and you will only be competing against other Euroteknik members.
  • Cars will be combined into one class using RTP indexes with a correction for people running on Street Tires in a class that would normally allow R Compound Tires.
  • Season long points will be assigned at sanctioned autocross events throughout the season. We will not be hosting our own events but will compete at other club (BMW Windy City, Audi Club Chicagoland Chapter, Salt Creek Sports Car Club, etc.) events. An event will be considered a sanctioned event if there are 3 or more Euroteknik competition competitors.
  • Season long points will only be calculated from your best FOUR finishes. However, additional events may be used as tie breakers. i.e. if 3 people finish with 4000 points, additional events will be counted.
  • Points for each event will be assigned as follows:
The winner of each event (based on Indexed RTP) will get 1000 points. Each other member will get between 0-999 points calculated by dividing the fastest RTP indexed time by their indexed time and multiplying by 1000.
  • The finishing order for each event will be the competitor with the fastest run of the day after applying the RTP (Racers Theoretical Performance), modifier to their score. For example, Jodee and I compete in an autocross. He drives his BMW 323i which is a D Stock car with a RTP modifier of .796.. I drive my Mazda RX8 which is a B stock car with an RTP modifier of .821.. Let’s say my best time of the day is 65.567 seconds and Jodee’s best time is a 65.899. In this case Jodee wins because .796*65.899 < < .821*65.567.
  • We will not be using any other time modifiers from other clubs like the BMWCCA novice correction factor.
  • Cars will be classed using the SCCA National Solo Rulebook. If you need help classing your car due to mods, PM me a list of your mods and I’ll help you. There are 312 pages in the rulebook and there should be a rule for everything. For people running Street Tires in a class that allows R compounds, in most cases (except for DSP,ESP) we will be lower the RTP by 2% to allow people to be competitive while running Street Tires. Some exceptions will be allowed to the official SCCA classing rules:
    • Intakes, Short Shift Kits, Big Brake Kits will be ignored (i.e. allowed in any class).
    • ASP cars that are SM eligible will be allowed to use the lower SM indexes.
    • DSP and ESP cars on street tires will use the STU index.
    • Heavily modified E30/E36/E46 non ///M BMWs with original engine and no forced induction (turbo/super-charger) have the choice to run under the E36 ///M3 classes (BSP, STU).
    • x-braces are STU legal for E36 ///M3s.
    • Exceptions for some car modifications may be made on an individual basis with unanimous approval from the autocross committee.
  • RTPs are as follows:
  • You may run any car, even non-euro cars.
  • You may only run one car at each event. If you are running more than one car at any given event then you must declare which car will count towards the Euroteknik competition before the event.
  • You may change cars throughout the season.
  • There will be a nominal fee ($5) to enter the championship. Money will go towards purchasing season long trophies.
  • Trophies will be handed out for the top third finishers. Tentatively, there will also be a rookie of the year award given to the best performing rookie (defined as someone with less than 5 total autocrosses prior to the 2006 season).
  • You will only score points for races after you have been registered for the competition.
  • If you do not pay the $5 fee then you will be disqualified.
  • I will be the secretary and will collect money and maintain the season long standings for each class.
  • Mck will be the referee for any disputes and his authority is final.
  • If you are permanently banned by Euroteknik during the season then you will be disqualified and your money will be refunded.
  • The last potential event of the season will be Oct 22nd, 2006.
  • We’d like to make this an annual competition and we would like your feedback during the off-season towards any rule or scoring tweaks for the following season.
If you have any questions or need clarification, please PM me.

Bummer, Sunday's SCCA event doesn't count. I didn't see anyone I know. Of course I don't know many people here by sight, except for maybe Matt, Jager Dave and Brad.

What class was Jeff, STU I think?

We class Ramsen as SS and Jodee as GS IIRC. I'm in Japan right now so I might not be able to get the results up right away.

Yup. BSP on Street tires (Michelin PS2s). Light weight flywheel bumped me out of STU. I didn't run Street Tire Class due to pending R's and I may need series points.
