R comp winter storage tips

Do you guys do anything special when storing your r comps for winter?

My mechanic suggested letting the air out of them and sealing them in plastic garbage bags to sealed out moisture.

Any other tips?

My NT-01s are wrapped in the Tire Rack totes hanging on my wall in the garage. I did this last year with my PS Cups and they were fine.

I lower the air pressure and put them in garbage bags in my storage unit. Keep them as warm as possible.

You may want to consider giving them a mud bath to trap in moisture before putting them in bags. Put them on the car, drive off the road a bit, getting them good and coated, and drive home. I can help if you're not comforatble doing this.

You can also use some of my hair products to make sure the thread is still sticky for next season.

Haha, that's hard driving right here. I think hoosiers will get stuck in your drive way when the temp is below 40.

So is it a bad idea to leave R compounds on the car in storage?

Tru dat, your tires will actually start getting flat spots after about a week. Week old ones roll out pretty quickly though. Not sure about all winter ones.

And if you have street tires and you are leaving them on the car, it's a good idea to put extra air in them. Like maybe 45 PSI or so.
